Ex-Servicemen Rally at Jalandhar


The Army conducted an Ex-servicemen Rally at Jalandhar Cantt on 29 Sep 2013 under the aegis of Vajra Corps. The rally was attended by 7,500 – 8,000 ex-servicemen and Veer Naris from districts across Punjab. The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Bikram Singh and Mrs Bubbles Bikram Singh graced the occasion with their presence as the Chief Guest. In his address to the veterans the Army Chief lauded the contribution of Punjab towards Armed forces.

General Bikram Singh, Chief of Army Staff visited South Western Command on 22-23 Sep 2013. During his two days visit to the Command HQ, he interacted with Lt Gen Gyan Bhushan, GOC-in-C South Western Command and was briefed on various operational aspects pertaining to South Western Command. He expressed his satisfaction on the operational preparedness of the Command. The COAS also interacted with officers in the station.

Chief Of Army Staff’s Visit To Australia General Bikram Singh, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) had proceeded on a goodwill visit to Australia from 03-06 Sep 2013. The visit was of special significance in the light of improving economic and military cooperation between the two countries in consonance with our growing relationship with Australia and is in continuum to the Hon’ble RM’s visit to Australia in the month of June 2013.

Army Chief On Two Days Visit To Valley Kashmir


General Bikram Singh, Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) paid a two day visit to the Valley to carry out the review of the security situation and to interact with the troops deployed in the forward areas of Baramulla and Kupwara Sectors as well as the hinterland. The Army Chief also called on HE Shri NN Vohra, the Governor and Mr Omar Abdullah,the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and discussed the prevailing security situation in the Valley.
