DCOAS Address To Troops Proceeding On Un Missions

Lieutenant General Jai Prakash Nehra, Deputy Chief of Army Staff (IS&T) addressed approximately two thousand troops of the Indian Army who would be inducting to United Nation Peace Keeping missions in Congo, South Sudan and Golan Heights. He reminded the troops of the rich and varied heritage of Indian Army and the prominent role which the Indian Army has played in United Nations peace keeping operations.

He also highlighted the laudable work done by Indian peacekeepers in the past, especially in Democratic Republic of Congo and South Sudan wherein the Indian Contingents are the largest military components and have contributed immensely towards bringing peace and stabilisation in the volatile region. He wished the troops a very fruitful and rewarding tenure as ambassadors of peace in UN missions in Congo, South Sudan, Lebanon and Syria.
